Switch
About the project
The switch is a stretcher that works beyond the basic need of the stretcher. The switch makes the process of shifting the patients from one bed to another, or from the stretcher to the bed simpler, easier, faster and safer.
The working prototype was made in stainless steel while the proposed material is aluminum to keep the weight to a minimum.

The solution
The final design comprises of a detachable frame which lets the upper frame of the stretcher to get detached and transfer the patient from one place to another.

Self lock folding mechanism
The mechanism locks itself in place as soon as the stretcher is opened in its standing position and just requires a push back to release the lock back.
The replaceable fabric
The fabric can be locked with a simple pipe system and can be replaced whenever needed.
